Vetmedin

Trade name for Pimobendan. A modern heart drug – it is a vasoldilator – this reduces the pressure the heart has to push against, and it increases the contractility of the heart muscle. It helps many types of heart failure. It should not be used in hypertrophic myopathy (when the muscle of the heart gets thicker at the expense of its volume capacity) and in aortic stenosis. It will occasionally cause vomiting. Proof is growing of its ability to extend life expectancy. It is a powerful and very useful drug.

Our veterinarians are all experienced general practitioners with a broad knowledge and
understanding of animal health, illness and injury.
