Libeo

This is a diuretic. It makes you pass urine more. It works by inhibiting resorption of sodium and chloride (salt) in the ascending loop of Henle in the kidneys. You pass more urine and so fluid collecting in lungs, abdomen, limbs or inflamed areas is pulled back into circulation. It is a most useful drug especially in heart failure. Dose rate is very variable depending on the urgency with which the fluid has to be got rid of.

There are ill effects but we find them very rare (they include making the patient dehydrated!) If at all worried phone the veterinarian to discuss any observed ill effect.

Our veterinarians are all experienced general practitioners with a broad knowledge and
understanding of animal health, illness and injury.
